11″Whoever touches the dead body of anyone will be unclean for seven days. 12He must purify himself with the water on the third day and on the seventh day; then he will be clean. But if he does not purify himself on the third and seventh days, he will not be clean. 13Whoever touches the dead body of anyone and fails to purify himself defiles the LORD’s tabernacle. That person must be cut off from Israel. Because the water of cleansing has not been sprinkled on him, he is unclean; his uncleanness remains on him. 14″This is the law that applies when a person dies in a tent: Anyone who enters the tent and anyone who is in it will be unclean for seven days, 15and every open container without a lid fastened on it will be unclean. 16″Anyone out in the open who touches someone who has been killed with a sword or someone who has died a natural death, or anyone who touches a human bone or a grave, will be unclean for seven days. 17″For the unclean person, put some ashes from the burned purification offering into a jar and pour fresh water over them. 18Then a man who is ceremonially clean is to take some hyssop, dip it in the water and sprinkle the tent and all the furnishings and the people who were there. He must also sprinkle anyone who has touched a human bone or a grave or someone who has been killed or someone who has died a natural death. 19The man who is clean is to sprinkle the unclean person on the third and seventh days, and on the seventh day he is to purify him. The person being cleansed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and that evening he will be clean. 20But if a person who is unclean does not purify himself, he must be cut off from the community, because he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD. The water of cleansing has not been sprinkled on him, and he is unclean. 21This is a lasting ordinance for them. “The man who sprinkles the water of cleansing must also wash his clothes, and anyone who touches the water of cleansing will be unclean till evening. 22Anything that an unclean person touches becomes unclean, and anyone who touches it becomes unclean till evening.”

Meditation.
하나님께서는 시체와 접촉해 부정하게 된 사람들의 유형에 대해 말씀하십니다. 사람의 시체를 만진 사람(11절), 시체가 있는 장막에 들어가거나 그 안에 있는 사람(14절), 사람의 뼈 또는 무덤을 만진 사람(16절)은 7일간 부정하다고 하셨습니다. 이를 해결하려면 정결한 자가 부정한 자에게 암송아지의 재를 사용해 만든 부정을 씻는 물을 뿌려야 했고, 그 옷을 빨고 몸을 씻어야 했습니다(19절). 정결 의식은 부정함을 끊고 정결한 상태로 하나님께 나아가기 위해 반드시 필요한 과정이었습니다. 만일 정결 의식을 행하지 않으면 그 사람은 회중에서 끊어진다고 하셨습니다(13, 20절). 부정한 상태가 해결되지 않으면 그가 닿는 곳곳마다 부정함이 전염돼 하나님께서 거룩히 여기시는 성막과 성소가 훼손되기 때문입니다. 오늘날을 사는 그리스도인도 참된 예배자로 하나님께 나아가기 위해서는 삶 자체의 정결함을 우선 회복해야 하고, 부정함의 전염을 끊어 내는 일에 최선을 다해야 합니다. 나는 정결함을 회복하기 위해 최선을 다하고 있습니까? 부정함의 전염을 끊어 내는 데 최선을 다해 정결한 몸과 마음으로 하나님께 나아가게 하소서.
