25아담이 다시 아내와 동침하매 그가 아들을 낳아 그의 이름을 셋이라 하였으니 이는 하나님이 내게 가인이 죽인 아벨 대신에 다른 씨를 주셨다 함이며 26셋도 아들을 낳고 그의 이름을 에노스라 하였으며 그때에 사람들이 비로소 여호와의 이름을 불렀더라 5:1아담의 계보를 적을 때에 하나님이 사람을 창조하실 때에 하나님의 형상대로 지으시되 2남자와 여자를 창조하셨고 그들이 창조되던 날에 하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시고 그들의 이름을 사람이라 일컬으셨더라 3아담은 백삼십 세에 자기의 형상 곧 자기의 형상과 같은 아들을 낳아 이름을 셋이라 하였고 4아담은 셋을 낳은 후 팔백 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 5그는 구백삼십 세를 살고 죽었더라 6셋은 백오 세에 에노스를 낳았고 7에노스를 낳은 후 팔백칠 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 8그는 구백십이 세를 살고 죽었더라 9에노스는 구십 세에 게난을 낳았고 10게난을 낳은 후 팔백십오 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 11그는 구백오 세를 살고 죽었더라 12게난은 칠십 세에 마할랄렐을 낳았고 13마할랄렐을 낳은 후 팔백사십 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 14그는 구백십 세를 살고 죽었더라 15마할랄렐은 육십오 세에 야렛을 낳았고 16야렛을 낳은 후 팔백삼십 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 17그는 팔백구십오 세를 살고 죽었더라 18야렛은 백육십이 세에 에녹을 낳았고 19에녹을 낳은 후 팔백 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 20그는 구백육십이 세를 살고 죽었더라 21에녹은 육십오 세에 므두셀라를 낳았고 22므두셀라를 낳은 후 삼백 년을 하나님과 동행하며 자녀를 낳았으며 23그는 삼백육십오 세를 살았더라 24에녹이 하나님과 동행하더니 하나님이 그를 데려가시므로 그가 세상에 있지 아니하였더라 25므두셀라는 백팔십칠 세에 라멕을 낳았고 26라멕을 낳은 후 칠백팔십이 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 27그는 구백육십구 세를 살고 죽었더라 28라멕은 백팔십이 세에 아들을 낳고 29이르되 여호와께서 땅을 저주하심으로 수고롭게 일하는 우리를 이 아들이 안위하리라 하고 그의 이름을 노아라 하였으며 30라멕은 노아를 낳은 후 오백구십오 년을 지내며 자녀를 낳았으며 31그는 칠백칠십칠 세를 살고 죽었더라 32노아는 오백 세 된 후에 셈과 함과 야벳을 낳았더라

히브리서 11:5~6 믿음으로 에녹은 죽음을 보지 않고 옮겨졌으니, 하나님이 그를 옮기심으로 다시 보이지 아니하였느니라. 그는 옮겨지기 전에 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 자라 하는 증거를 받았느니라. 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니, 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시 그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라.

Meditation
하나님은 죽은 아벨 대신 아담과 하와에게 셋이라는 아들을 주셨습니다. 셋은 에노스를 낳았고, 이때부터 사람들이 ‘여호와의 이름’을 부르며 예배하기 시작했습니다(창 4:25~26). 이어지는 창세기 5장에서는 아담의 계보가 소개됩니다(창 5:1). 이 계보에서 특히 눈에 띄는 인물은 ‘에녹’입니다. 성경은 에녹이 ‘하나님과 동행했다’는 사실을 두 번이나 기록하고 있습니다(창 5:22,24). 다른 인물들의 족보는 간략하게 언급되지만, 에녹에 대해서는 그가 세상에 있지 않고 하나님이 데려가셨다고 명확히 말합니다. 이는 에녹이 죽음을 경험하지 않고 하나님께로 직접 옮겨졌음을 의미합니다(히 11:5~6). 에녹은 하나님과 동행했기 때문에 이러한 축복을 받은 것입니다. 당시 성경 속 사람들의 평균 수명이 800세를 넘었던 것에 비해, 에녹은 365세로 비교적 짧은 생애를 살았습니다. 그러나 성경은 그의 짧은 생애를 통해 하나님과 동행하는 삶이 얼마나 귀한지를 보여줍니다.
인생에서 중요한 것은 오래 사는 것이 아니라, 얼마나 하나님과 친밀한 관계를 유지하느냐입니다. 오늘 하루, 에녹처럼 하나님과 동행하는 기쁨을 누리길 바랍니다. 날마다 주님과 동행하려 노력하고, 세상 속에서 하나님 말씀으로 살게 하소서.
