1둘째로 시므온 곧 시므온 자손의 지파를 위하여 그들의 가족대로 제비를 뽑았으니 그들의 기업은 유다 자손의 기업 중에서라 2그들이 받은 기업은 브엘세바 곧 세바와 몰라다와 3하살 수알과 발라와 에셈과 4엘돌랏과 브둘과 호르마와 5시글락과 벧 말가봇과 하살수사와 6벧 르바옷과 사루헨이니 열세 성읍이요 또 그 마을들이며 7또 아인과 림몬과 에델과 아산이니 네 성읍이요 또 그 마을들이며 8또 네겝의 라마 곧 바알랏 브엘까지 이 성읍들을 둘러 있는 모든 마을들이니 이는 시므온 자손의 지파가 그들의 가족대로 받은 기업이라 9시므온 자손의 이 기업은 유다 자손의 기업 중에서 취하였으니 이는 유다 자손의 분깃이 자기들에게 너무 많으므로 시므온 자손이 자기의 기업을 그들의 기업 중에서 받음이었더라 10셋째로 스불론 자손을 위하여 그들의 가족대로 제비를 뽑았으니 그들의 기업의 경계는 사릿까지이며 11서쪽으로 올라가서 마랄라에 이르러 답베셋을 만나 욕느암 앞 시내를 만나고 12사릿에서부터 동쪽으로 돌아 해 뜨는 쪽을 향하여 기슬롯 다볼의 경계에 이르고 다브랏으로 나가서 야비아로 올라가고 13또 거기서부터 동쪽으로 가드 헤벨을 지나 엣 가신에 이르고 네아까지 연결된 림몬으로 나아가서 14북쪽으로 돌아 한나돈에 이르고 입다엘 골짜기에 이르러 끝이 되며 15또 갓닷과 나할랄과 시므론과 이달라와 베들레헴이니 모두 열두 성읍과 그 마을들이라 16스불론 자손이 그들의 가족대로 받은 기업은 이 성읍들과 그 마을들이었더라 17넷째로 잇사갈 곧 잇사갈 자손을 위하여 그들의 가족대로 제비를 뽑았으니 18그들의 지역은 이스르엘과 그술롯과 수넴과 19하바라임과 시온과 아나하랏과 20랍빗과 기시온과 에베스와 21레멧과 엔 간님과 엔핫다와 벧 바세스이며 22그 경계는 다볼과 사하수마와 벧 세메스에 이르고 그 끝은 요단이니 모두 열여섯 성읍과 그 마을들이라 23잇사갈 자손 지파가 그 가족대로 받은 기업은 이 성읍들과 그 마을들이었더라 24다섯째로 아셀 자손의 지파를 위하여 그 가족대로 제비를 뽑았으니 25그들의 지역은 헬갓과 할리와 베덴과 악삽과 26알람멜렉과 아맛과 미살이며 그 경계의 서쪽은 갈멜을 만나 시홀 림낫에 이르고 27해 뜨는 쪽으로 돌아 벧 다곤에 이르며 스불론을 만나고 북쪽으로 입다 엘 골짜기를 만나 벧에멕과 느이엘에 이르고 가불 왼쪽으로 나아가서 28에브론과 르홉과 함몬과 가나를 지나 큰 시돈까지 이르고 29돌아서 라마와 견고한 성읍 두로에 이르고 돌아서 호사에 이르고 악십 지방 곁 바다가 끝이 되며 30또 움마와 아벡과 르홉이니 모두 스물두 성읍과 그 마을들이라 31아셀 자손의 지파가 그 가족대로 받은 기업은 이 성읍들과 그 마을들이었더라 32여섯째로 납달리 자손을 위하여 납달리 자손의 가족대로 제비를 뽑았으니 33그들의 지역은 헬렙과 사아난님의 상수리나무에서부터 아다미 네겝과 얍느엘을 지나 락굼까지요 그 끝은 요단이며 34서쪽으로 돌아 아스놋 다볼에 이르고 그 곳에서부터 훅곡으로 나아가 남쪽은 스불론에 이르고 서쪽은 아셀에 이르며 해 뜨는 쪽은 요단에서 유다에 이르고 35그 견고한 성읍들은 싯딤과 세르와 함맛과 락갓과 긴네렛과 36아다마와 라마와 하솔과 37게데스와 에드레이와 엔 하솔과 38이론과 믹다렐과 호렘과 벧 아낫과 벧 세메스니 모두 열아홉 성읍과 그 마을들이라 39납달리 자손의 지파가 그 가족대로 받은 기업은 이 성읍들과 그 마을들이었더라 40일곱째로 단 자손의 지파를 위하여 그들의 가족대로 제비를 뽑았으니 41그들의 기업의 지역은 소라와 에스다올과 이르세메스와 42사알랍빈과 아얄론과 이들라와 43엘론과 딤나와 에그론과 44엘드게와 깁브돈과 바알랏과 45여훗과 브네브락과 가드 림몬과 46메얄곤과 락곤과 욥바 맞은편 경계까지라 47그런데 단 자손의 경계는 더욱 확장되었으니 이는 단 자손이 올라가서 레셈과 싸워 그것을 점령하여 칼날로 치고 그것을 차지하여 거기 거주하였음이라 그들의 조상 단의 이름을 따라서 레셈을 단이라 하였더라 48단 자손의 지파가 그에 딸린 가족대로 받은 기업은 이 성읍들과 그들의 마을들이었더라 49이스라엘 자손이 그들의 경계를 따라서 기업의 땅 나누기를 마치고 자기들 중에서 눈의 아들 여호수아에게 기업을 주었으니 50곧 여호와의 명령대로 여호수아가 요구한 성읍 에브라임 산지 딤낫 세라를 주매 여호수아가 그 성읍을 건설하고 거기 거주하였더라 51제사장 엘르아살과 눈의 아들 여호수아와 이스라엘 자손의 지파의 족장들이 실로에 있는 회막 문 여호와 앞에서 제비 뽑아 나눈 기업이 이러하니라 이에 땅 나누는 일을 마쳤더라

1The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon, clan by clan. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah. 2It included: Beersheba (or Sheba), Moladah, 3Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem, 4Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah, 5Ziklag, Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susah, 6Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen–thirteen towns and their villages; 7Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan–four towns and their villages- 8and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, clan by clan. 9The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah. 10The third lot came up for Zebulun, clan by clan: The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid. 11Going west it ran to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and extended to the ravine near Jokneam. 12It turned east from Sarid toward the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia. 13Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon and turned toward Neah. 14There the boundary went around on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El. 15Included were Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem. There were twelve towns and their villages. 16These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, clan by clan. 17The fourth lot came out for Issachar, clan by clan. 18Their territory included: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem, 19Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath, 20Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, 21Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez. 22The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen towns and their villages. 23These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, clan by clan. 24The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher, clan by clan. 25Their territory included: Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph, 26Allammelech, Amad and Mishal. On the west the boundary touched Carmel and Shihor Libnath. 27It then turned east toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El, and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Cabul on the left. 28It went to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon. 29The boundary then turned back toward Ramah and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah and came out at the sea in the region of Aczib, 30Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two towns and their villages. 31These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, clan by clan. 32The sixth lot came out for Naphtali, clan by clan: 33Their boundary went from Heleph and the large tree in Zaanannim, passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan. 34The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. It touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west and the Jordan on the east. 35The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth, 36Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, 37Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor, 38Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath and Beth Shemesh. There were nineteen towns and their villages. 39These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, clan by clan. 40The seventh lot came out for the tribe of Dan, clan by clan. 41The territory of their inheritance included: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, 42Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, 43Elon, Timnah, Ekron, 44Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, 45Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, 46Me Jarkon and Rakkon, with the area facing Joppa. 47(But the Danites had difficulty taking possession of their territory, so they went up and attacked Leshem, took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named it Dan after their forefather.) 48These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, clan by clan. 49When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them, 50as the LORD had commanded. They gave him the town he asked for–Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. And he built up the town and settled there. 51These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh in the presence of the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. And so they finished dividing the land.

베냐민 지파의 땅 분배에 이어, 시므온 지파부터 단 지파까지의 땅 분배가 시작됩니다. 시므온 지파는 남쪽 땅을, 잇사갈과 아셀, 납달리 지파는 북쪽 끝의 땅을 받게 됩니다. 시므온 지파의 땅은 주변 민족들의 침략에 노출된 곳이어서, 인접한 유다 지파의 지원이 절실했습니다. 사실 시므온 지파가 이 위치를 차지하게 된 배경에는 야곱의 딸 디나 사건이 있습니다. 시므온은 디나를 욕보인 세겜 사람을 처벌할 때 앞장서서 무자비한 살육을 저질렀고(참조 창 34:25), 이로 인해 야곱으로부터 ‘흩어질 것’이라는 말을 듣습니다(참조 창 49:7). 결국 시므온 지파는 다른 민족의 위협을 받으며 다른 지파에 흡수돼, 유다 지파의 분깃을 나눠 받는 처지에 놓입니다. 이는 유다의 분깃이 많기도 했지만, 결산의 때에 하나님께서 개입하시고 판단하셨음을 의미합니다. 그러므로 성도는 매 순간 하나님 앞에서 자신을 살피며 겸손하고 경건한 삶의 태도를 유지해야 합니다. 모든 판단을 하나님께 맡기고, 하나님 앞에서 철저하게 거룩함을 지키는 성도가 됩시다. 성도로서 매 순간 신중함을 잃지 않고, 언제나 하나님 앞에서 거룩한 모습으로 서게 하소서.
